Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Uganda and Tour around Kampala town.

You will be picked by Hail Tours Uganda drive rand start your journey to Kampala city. You will be taken for some rest and refreshment and then later be picked to start your tour of Kampala city. You will visit the Kasubi Tombs, Gadhafi Mosque, Uganda Museum, Baha’i Temple. Visit the Uganda Martyrs Shrine. Uganda Martyrs Shrine serves as a remembrance for the Ugandans from the Buganda Kingdom who died for their faith. The shrine offers the opportunity to learn about the history of Christianity in Uganda. Visit the Craft markets, and many other more historical places that make Kampala unique. Day 2: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park.

You will be picked up from your hotel/lodge by our safari driver after your breakfast, and then after you will embark on a transfer to the south western part of the country to Lake Mburo national park which is about 3-4 hours’ drive from the capital city Kampala.

You will make the first stopover at the Equator crossing at Kayabwe, here you will receive informative talks and snack taking and photography. The equator is the point which divides between the north and south spheres. From here you will continue on the drive to the park arriving in time for lunch. After assemble at Lake Mburo for an evening boat cruise for an opportunity to watch various species of mammal and birds that feed and live on the lake like schools of hippos, the Nile crocodiles among other wild game drinking on the shores, the African fish eagle, pelicans, Black Crake, Heron, Cormorant among other bird species are present at the park. Day 3: Morning Game drive and Nature walk

Wake up for breakfast after, enjoy a game drive to explore the striking savannah acacia landscapes with rolling hills marked with bulging Kopje rocks and ancient Precambrian rocks part of the park to catch up with various species of animals, games expected to see include Burchell’s Zebra, elephant, warthogs, eland, Rothschild Giraffes, impala, Uganda kobs, waterbuck, buffaloes just to mention but a few.

Come back at the lodge for lunch, after lunch, enjoy the nature walk through flora and fauna culminating into a ‘’Salt Lake’’ where you will be fortunate to see a minimum of 4 different species of animals while they lick the salty soil.

Day 4: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.

After a hearty breakfast, you will be driven to Lake Bunyonyi the deepest lake in Africa, its located in the south west of Uganda about 4 hours’ from Lake Mburo N.P. You will be driven through a green country side landscape of south western Uganda. You will arrive in the afternoon for relaxation and refreshment. After, go for a canoe ride to explore the lake.

Day 5: Enjoy a sun rise boat cruise at the lake and transfer to Bwindi National Park.

Enjoy a hearty breakfast and then after, enjoy a sunrise boat cruise to explore the beauty of the lake bunyonyi, here you will be able to explore each and every corner of the lake including different islands, with views to different species of birds. After which you will come back to the lodge for lunch.

Day 6: Gorilla tracking and nature walk

Wake up relatively early for a hearty breakfast to give you the energy needed for gorilla tracking. The guide will drive you to the park headquarters for registration and also to receive short briefings about the dos and don’ts while with these giants. After, set deep into the forest following the ranger guide to begin the gorilla tracking experience. This trek can take from half an hour to 8 hours so a reasonable degree of fitness is needs as well as tracking gears like sturdy pair of walking shoes, long-sleeved shirts and blouses. Sit in the forest among the gorillas, listening to them grumble to each other, it’s really a breathtaking moment siting in the dense rainforest knowing you are with the few remaining mountain gorillas in the world. You are strictly allowed only one hour with ounce you meet these giants while taking photography as well as studding their behaviors. After this delightful activity, get back to the lodge for late lunch.

Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park En-route Tree Climbing Lions.

This morning after breakfast, you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park home to wide biodiversity of wildlife.

You will pass through the famous part of the park ishasha sector, enjoy an en route game drive, if lucky you will see the tree climbing lions site in the fig trees or tree branches along with other wild game like buffaloes, elephants, antelopes among others. After this encounter, continue on the drive to Queen Elizabeth arriving in the evening for relaxation.

Day 8: Game drive and launch cruise

Wake up for a cup of tea or coffee and then after proceed to the Savannah area of the park kasenyi to do morning game drive to catch-up with early animals rushing from their hideouts, games expected to see include lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, water bucks, jackals among others. The activity lasts 3 – 4 hours after which you return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch.

After lunch embark on a 2 hours’ launch cruise on the Kazinga channel that connects Lakes Edward and George, the launch cruise gives you the opportunity to view wildlife up close like schools of hippos, just feet away from the boat, buffaloes linger in the shallows as well as elephant. The shores are also home to various species of birds including pink backed pelicans, pied and malachite kingfishers, saddle billed stork and may others, after drive slowly back to the lodge. Day 9: Morning Chimp trekking in Kyambura Gorge, and transfer to Kasese

Wake up early for a morning breakfast, and then after you will have a short briefing from the park warden about the dos and don’ts while with the chimps. After, leave for 8:00 am chimp trek in the Kyambura George. The ranger guide will take you deep into the forest to track our close relatives, chimps are tremendous fun to watch as they squabble and play in fruitful trees or tree blanches. Tracking may go from 1-6 hours since meeting them depends on where they spent their last night from, ounce they are met only one hour is allowed to stay with them.

After the retreat from the activity and get back to the lodge for relaxation and lunch then transfer you will transfer to Maramagambo forest for an afternoon nature walk. The walk is rewarding with sights to very many species of birds and other flora with impressive sights to bat cave where counts of bats thrive along with the python. Day 10: Do whole day Mount Rwenzori Hiking and later transfer to Kibale National Park

This day is reserved for exploring the legendary mountains of the moon; Mountains Rwenzori is immense to 5,109m above sea level with snowcapped peaks. The day’s venture is an exciting encounter of the mountain slopes sightseeing the lush flora that have earned it a status as a world heritage site. Mountain Rwenzori is known as the tallest mountain range in Africa since the Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya are free standing. After the almost a full day activity, transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.

Day 11: Chimp tracking and Bigodi nature walk

After breakfast, report to the ranger station in Kibale forest national park before 8:00 am here you will first receive a short briefing about chimp tracking and then after, follow the ranger guide to the forest to begin the most thought after activity at the park chimp tracking. These delightful apes more closely related to humans than to any other living creature, are magnificent to watch as they squabble and play in fruitful trees or on tree branches. Tracking time is unpredictable however it can from 1-6 hours as meeting them depends on where they spent their last night from, therefore some physical fitness is needed. Ounce they are met you are strictly allowed only one hour with them taking photography as well as studding their behaviors.

Retire back to the lodge for lunch, after lunch, you will go for a guided walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary to look for more species of primates and birds like the shining blue kingfisher, blue Throated Roller, see various species of trees among many other species plant. Day 12: Exit Kibale and Murchison Falls National Park.

This day will be reserved for a transfer to Murchison Falls national park passing through the magnificent picturesque landscapes of the Albertine rift with views of Lake Albert and the Blue Mountains of Congo. Make a stopover at Kibiro Salt Gardens and hot springs en route to explore the traditional means of salt extraction and how the local people especially women apply their native knowledge to derive one of the fine salts you can ever have. Day 13: Game drive, launch cruise and Hike to the Top of the Falls.

Morning breakfast is followed by a transfer to the northern part of the park for a game drive to catch-up with a wide variety of games that live at the park. Games expected to see include elephant, buffaloes, bushbucks, lions, warthogs, giraffe, and a variety of bird species.

After, take a slow drive back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, proceed for a 2 hours’ launch cruise on the Nile River up to the substructure of the mighty Murchison falls for more opportunity to view various amazing species wildlife like schools of hippos, crocodiles, water birds along the river bank lucky visitors can spot the rare shoe bills.

Murchison falls along river Nile is a true master piece of nature! In a small space a million cubic meters of water from the Nile squeeze themselves through the Albertine gorge as they make their way 6,853 km (4,258 miles) towards Egypt. Many people wonder how the scenic falls would actually be, but once you are on top of them and see the entire Nile going through a small gap, it makes sense why so many visitors make the trip. The Nile River is about 50 meters wide on top just before the falls, it drops down 43 meters through a 7-meter-wide gorge.

The journey to the top is a long one but once you reach this place, it becomes worth it. The thunderous spectacle and noise made by the water as it passes through the tiny hole is magnificent – one not to be missed by anyone with the means because no better words can explain the display. Day 14: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park.

After a heavy breakfast at the lodge, embark on the transfer to Kidepo valley national park in the far northern part of Uganda. The park is known as the largest in Uganda perched in a natural systematic dry savannah overlooking the border of South Sudan and Kenya. Pass through Gulu and Kitgum until you reach Kidepo Valley National Park.

Arrive in Kidepo Valley National Park in the late evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight. stay at your booked lodge.

Day 15: Morning game drive and Karimojong community tour

Early morning breakfast, after embark on a game drive in the savannah landscape of the kidepo valley national park. Drive to the Narus valley where most of the animals congregate as they come to drink water. Games expected to see include lions, elephants, buffaloes, Rothschild giraffes, cheetah, warthogs among many other wildlife; you may also come across the Ostrich.

Day 16: Trek to Morungole Mountains to the native Karimojong

This day you will hike to the Morungole Mountains where the native Karimojong are known to be flourishing. The native Karimojong are famously known to be the original inhabitants of the area before they were forced to the mountains by the coming of the pastoralist groups. The climbs are rewarding as you will be fortunate to see the remarkable views of Karamoja plains and South Sudan Mountains. After the activity retire back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 17:  Transfer to Pian Upe Game Reserve.

On this day after breakfast, you will embark on another thriving activity in the Sipi area in the eastern part of Uganda. However, you will first enjoy a game drive in the famed Pian Upe Game Reserve for opportunity to see more species of wildlife like Jackals, Civets, spotted hyenas, Servals, Leopards, Wildcats, Vervet monkeys, Patas monkeys, Olive baboons, vervet monkeys, Topi, Cape buffalo, just to mention but a few.

Day 18: Cultural experience of the Tepeth-tribe and Nature Walks.

The tour departs in the early morning for a scenic and cultural and walk through the valley of Mt Moroto, the highest mountain of Karamoja. The mountain is inhabited by one of Uganda’s smallest tribe, the Tepeth. They are the indigenous inhabitants of the Karamoja planes that escaped into the mountains when the Karimojong settled on their lands.

Visit the Karamoja Cultural Museum. The reasonable small museum hosts irreplaceable collections, which illustrate the rich cultural heritage of the entire Karamoja region and value the scientific collaboration between Ugandan and French researchers in the field of paleontology. The Karamoja Museum is devoted to the collection, conservation and promotion of the rich cultural heritage of the entire Karamoja region. Yu will also participate in daily life in the Ere (village). Immerse yourself in Karamojong culture. The afternoon is spent participating traditional games, daily activities as preparing staple foods, harvesting, beading, learning, dance, how to shoot bow and arrow and traditional friendly wrestling.

Day 19: Transfer to Sipi Falls.

After you have enjoyed our early morning breakfast, you will start your journey to the Sipi Falls. You shall have a nature walk to the Sipi falls. These are a series of 3 waterfalls. On reaching you will relax for a cup of coffee and briefing from the local guide. You will then embark your hike starting with the top most water fall, descending down till the bottom water which is the main water fall.

This is proved to be the best romantic place in Uganda and you will be fascinated by its beauty.

In the afternoon you will go for a coffee community walk. You will visit and see how Arabic Coffee is dried, roasted, produced and grown by the Local farmers. It is the main cash crop in the area and genuinely one of the finest coffee’s in the world. Later you can relax, enjoy dinner and overnight rest at your booked lodge.

Day 20: Transfer to Jinja at the Source of the Nile

You will be wake up very early in the morning and start you journey to Jinja, the World’s longest river Nile. Jinja lies on the shore of Lake Victoria. This town is famous as the historic source of the river Nile and at the same time the adrenaline capital of East Africa. Besides enjoying peaceful sunsets, bird life and tranquility, this is also where visitors get their adventurous fix. Embark on the Nile White Water rafting where you will have a memorable encounter with the magical waters of the Nile River as it plunders through series of impermeable rocks forming cascade and rapids that would present one of the challenging encounters in your adventure world. The half day or full day rafting adventure is available to enable you live up your curiosity. Retreat in the evening and transfer back to you room for rest as you will be fully exhausted for any other activity and you also prepare for the following day.
