Day 1

Entebbe International Airport – Transfer to Kampala City

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport you will be welcomed by our company representative and safari driver guide for your transfer to a Hotel Kampala for a hot shower, relaxation and briefings about your vacation. Later have lunch and go for Kampala evening city tour to explore the historical places of Uganda such as Kabaka’s palace and Amin torture chambers, Bahai Temple the only one in Africa, Namugongo martyr’s shrines (where twenty two Christian convicts were killed under Kabaka (King of Buganda)-Mwanga), Uganda National Museum.

Day 2

Kampala City – Buganda Cultural sites

After breakfast, drive to Naggalabi coronation site where Buganda kingdom begins to stretch to other part and it is the reason this spot is maintained for a long time. It is here that every Kabaka is crowned to become a king for the past 800 years, proceed to Katereeke Prison, a historical ditch that was constructed by the late Ssekabaka Kalema to imprison his brothers and relatives who were potentials to ascend to the throne, then drive to Kabaka Mwanga’s Lake, a human hand made lake that was dug by the Baganda on the orders of Kabaka Mwanga, visit Bulange parliament building with the most impressive colonial era setting and well known attractions including the giant tortoises, have lunch and continue to Kasubi Tombs, a burial site for the dead kings of Buganda then end the day with Wamala Tombs housed in an attractive, traditional thatched domed building which are the burial site of Ssekabaka Muteesa I, the 29th king of Buganda Kingdom who invited missionaries to Uganda. Dinner.

Day 3

Kampala city – Sezibwa falls – Source of the Nile – Sipi Falls

After breakfast head to eastwards with en-route stop at Sezibwa Falls. The site is a hidden cultural treasure with a number of traditional attachment for the Buganda Kingdom and believed to be a blessing center, proceed to Mabira eco-tourism forest reserve for an 1-hour trek around, it is a home to over 315 species of Bird like the Nahan’s Francolin, cassin Hawk Eagle, etc then continue with the drive to Jinja, have lunch and transfer to the Source of the Nile for an hour boat ride to from shores of the Nile to the exact point where John Speke, the first European to see the source of the world’s longest river stood. Proceed to Sipi Falls, for a simple hike at Sipi Falls characterized by four spectacular falls along river Sipi, flowing down the Mount Elgon. Each waterfall offers an experience different from another, from the plunge, beautiful views, caves, to rainbows. The entire hike will take from 3 to 4 hours. Dinner and an overnight.

Day 4

Sipi Falls – Nyero Rock paints – Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

On this day have breakfast and depart for Kidepo valley National Park via Nyero rock paintings, these rock paintings are believed to have been made by the earlier settlers in the area. Currently it is the Itesot people who live in the area, but there are stories and tales that some little people, a bit like the Batwa who were in that area before the Itesots settled there and if you have an interest in archeology then the Nyero Rock Paintings are a site to be visited then transfer to Kidepo valley national Park the most magnificent and Africa’s finest wildernesses through the remote villages of Basoga Kingdom, Bagishu Kingdom, Karamonjos and finally into the valleys of Kidepo national park one of only 3 best National park in Africa as voted by CNN travel channel. Dinner and an overnight.

Day 5

Kidepo Valley National Park – Morning game driver – Evening nature walks / game drive

Have breakfast in the morning at the lodge, have your packed lunch and go for Kidepo Valley morning game drive “Africa’s finest wilderness” to search for the great games of the park and most of them are unique to the park these include African Elephants, Leopard, Bush bucks, Giraffes, African Buffaloes, Lion, Cheetah and this is the only park in Uganda where you can meet ostriches and cheetahs in the wild have lunch break and later go for an evening game drive to the hot springs via the palm trees lined along Kidepo River, in search for Ostriches and leopards, tortoises along the way. This Park has over 80 species of mammals several of which restricted only to Kidepo and home to over 465 species among these include the flightless bird “Ostrich”. A part from the game drive. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6

Kidepo Valley National Park – Morning cultural performances – Transfer to Murchison Falls National

After your morning breakfast, be ready to be entertained by Karamojong traditional Manyattas troupes with their amazing cultural performances. The Karamonjong are pastoral people and predominately breed cattle and goats, they are easily recognizable by their unique style of dress and beading, our guide will take you through the homestead designs, local cuisines and meet the elders who will narrate the tribe’s folklore and beliefs. After this morning entertainments relax and then transfer to Murchison Falls National Park the Uganda’s most visited and largest park.

Day 7

Murchison Falls NP – Morning Game drive – Afternoon boat cruise –Hiking to top of the falls

On this day after breakfast, head out for your morning game drive, this drive will provide opportunities to watch various wildlife including; elephants, buffalo, Jackson harte beest, Kobs, lion, leopard, and giraffe among others that will leave you with a taste of African Savannah wilderness. Have a short break for lunch. Later go an afternoon boat cruise to the calm Victoria Nile, at the base of waterfalls just below the devil’s cauldron. Here you can marvel at the toothsome hippos, basks of crocodiles and over a 17 km stretch you will see elephants, water bucks, Uganda kobs and more. This area is also a habitat for many bird species including Goliath herons, Egyptian geese, shoe bill and others, then embark on an evening hiking to the top of the falls. Return to the lodge or for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 8

Murchison Falls NP –Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park – Evening Bigodi Swamp nature walks

After breakfast check out, drive to Kibale Forest National Park with a morning game drive en-route, estimated transit time is approximately 7 hours with frequent stops to stretch legs the drive will take you through little towns and villages as you observe the African rhythm of life. On arrival, check in at your preferred accommodation to relax and later go for Bigodi sanctuary swamp evening nature walk. Kibale forest national park is proudly known to have the greatest variety of primates in Africa the most famous of its 13 species is the Chimpanzee, our closest relative also a home to the rare I’Hoest’s monkey, black and white Colobus, Blue monkey, Grey cheeked mangabey, Red tailed monkey, Olive baboon to mention but a few. Dinner and overnight.

Day 9

Morning Chimpanzee Tracking – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Kasoga community walk

After breakfast, your driver will take you to the park information center for briefings about the dos and dots while tracking. Then you will set off to look for the chimpanzees. Tracking might take 2 to 6 hours basing on the location of chimpanzees. In the process of seeing chimpanzees you will be able to see also different bird species and other primates like the black and white colobus, grey cheeked Mangabey, golden monkeys among others, and various trees species as you walk through the forest. Later after this amazing time with the chimpanzees, transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP for lunch and visit Kasoga community initiative on Lake George Ramsar site in Hamukungu Fishing Village, southwest of Kasenyi on the edge of Queen Elizabeth National Park that offers authentic village experience on how the community lives and works such as Canoeing, Community Walk, Community Birding, Fishing Trips, Canoe Regatta, and Cultural Treat. Then check in at your reserved lodge dinner and an overnight.

Day 10

Morning Game drive – Afternoon Boat cruise – Community walk to Lake Katwe salt mining village

After a morning coffee, head out for a morning game drive at Kasenyi track of the park. Common sightings here are; elephant, warthog, water buck, kob, leopard, lions, hyena, buffalo and so much more. After a short break visit to Katwe fishing and salt mining village. In season, you will see plenty of flamingos in this part of the park. Have lunch and go for an afternoon boat cruise on the well-known Kazinga Channel to see schools of hippos, basks of crocodiles. The Channel has the highest concentration of hippos in Africa it is also a great place for birders enjoy most as you will see hundreds and hundreds of birds on the shore, you can easily identify over 40 species while on the boat cruise on Kazinga Channel. Later go for an evening game drive mainly to search for the big cats and other predators of the park. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 11

Queen Elizabeth NP – Morning game drive – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable NP via Ishasha sector

After your morning coffee, head out for a game drive to look for wildlife on the Kasenyi track of the park. Common sightings here are; elephant, warthog, water buck, kob, leopard, lions, hyena, buffalo then drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest NP via Ishasha sector which is famous for its tree climbing lions, for another game drive to look for the tree climbing lions and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park a home to the famous half of the worlds endangered mountain gorillas. A magnificent verdant swathe across the steep ridges of the Albertine Rift Valley, this ancient rain forest -one of the few in Africa to have flourished throughout the last Ice Age -is home to roughly half of the world’s mountain gorillas. Arrive to check in and have lunch, relax or go for an evening village walk and shopping at the craft market before dinner. At an altitude of up to 2,607 meters (8553ft). Expect some cooler temperatures in the evening.

Day 12

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest NP – Morning gorilla Trekking – Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla NP

Wake up early morning for breakfast and depart for the morning pre trek Gorilla briefing at the park Headquarters. Later go for your long time awaited activity “Gorilla trekking” the time taken while trekking is not known but it is expected to be between2-8 hours depending on the movement of the Gorilla family you are allocated to. During the trek expect to discover other primates such as Chimpanzees, black and white colombus monkey, vervet monkey, and many others.
On encounter, spend an hour of exhilarating moments with these gentle giants. Return to the lodge for a shower, lunch and then drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park which is the second habitat of the mountain gorillas in Uganda after Bwindi Impenetrable National Park but it is highly proudly know for harboring Golden monkeys and a home to the Batwa bush men who are still in their indigenous life style. Dinner and an overnight.

Day 13

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park – Morning golden monkey tracking – Batwa Cultural walks

After breakfast transfer to Mgahinga National Park headquarters for briefing and later begin the hike over the volcanic terrain in search for Golden Monkeys in the bamboo forests. Have a short break for refreshments and then start your cultural tour to take you through the lifestyle of the Batwa forest peoples before they were evicted from the forests in the early 1990s. The Batwa livelihoods solely depended on the forest economy mainly through hunting and fruit gathering until they were removed from their ancestral homes. The tour ends with a cultural show by the Batwa community at the entrance of the Garama cave, A ceremonial ground for Batwa cultural leaders. The cave was such a symbolic place in the Batwa culture and you will be proud to be part of this experience. After the Batwa People Trail return to lodge for relaxation lunch and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for the whole evening relaxing while enjoying viewing Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation.

Day 14

Lake Bunyonyi – Drive to Entebbe international airport via Kampala

Our 14 days gorilla, Chimpanzee trekking and a visit to Lake Bunyonyi tour ends with a drive back to Entebbe international airport, with an en-stop at the equator cross line point, this is an imaginary line which dissects the globe into two, participate in the water experiment where you will see how water movement changes when either south, north or along the equator line, take photos and shop for gifts at the equator. End of the vacation.
